Cloudland Canyon's Main Overlook: 

Tucked away in the rolling hills of northwest Georgia, Cloudland Canyon State Park sets the stage for a wonderful engagement sessions, from waterfalls to the golden hour main overlook! Our first spot was the Main Overlook where Jack proposed to Caroline on a beautiful sunrise morning. I was so glad that I was able to capture this special moment! 

Why the Main Overlook at Cloudland Canyon is a Perfect Spot?

  • Romantic Sunrise Light - If you're up for an early start, the sunrise at the overlook is nothing short of stunning. The soft, gentle light adds a warm and intimate atmosphere that’s hard to beat. And major perk is that you will most likely have the entire overlook to yourself at this hour!
  • Easily Accessible - No major hike required—just a short walk from the parking area makes it easy for couples (even in dress shoes!) to get to one of the most scenic spots in the park without breaking a sweat. 

    • After the “Yes”: A Waterfall Adventure

    After Jack popped the question at the overlook, and we got a reasoning YES, we made our way down to the waterfalls for a second round of photos. The Falls at Cloudland Canyon are a magical spot—surrounded by layered rock walls, misty air, and the sound of rushing water, it adds a whole new atmosphere to the shoot. The trail itself offers a little adventure, and the base of the falls gives couples a chance to get playful, close, and connected in a setting that feels both wild and intimate.

    At the base of the Falls, we captured a mix of moments: playful dancing poses, wide environmental shots to highlight the scale of the falls, and some close-ups of the ring. The trail itself adds a bit of adventure, and the setting invites both movement and stillness—perfect for telling the full story of their engagement day!
