Wedding - Frequently Asked Questions

I know there can be a lot going on leading up to a wedding, and I am here to help with some of those questions that I usually field when first meeting with couples about their upcoming wedding.

I have done plenty of weddings and I would like to share some of my knowledge to help make this day of fun as possible for everyone!

FAQs

Before we dive into all of other questions, I think that the most important question that everyone should ask their future photographer, is what would they look for in a wedding photographer.

Here is my answer: The first thing I would look for is if their photography style and edits match what I would like to see from my own wedding day, and there are generally a lot of really talented photographers in the various photography style niches. Once I narrow down to the photographers that work for me, I think the most important thing is that they and their team have the same personality and energy that I would like at my wedding! The person that will you will spending the most time with on your wedding day is hands down the photographer. You want someone that will be your best friend for the day, hyping you up as you get ready and work through all of your poses, laugh through all of the moments of the day as they unfold, and cheer with your friends and family as they send you off after a beautiful day of partying and celebrating!

So if you are looking for that person, I like to think I am your guy for your wedding photography needs!  Alright, let's get to it then!

1. What is your photography style?

I specialize in capturing natural and candid moments that tell the unique story of your wedding day. My editing style is a bright and happy vibe, with documentary style photography techniques. I like to keep my colors clean with true to life edits.

2. How are your wedding packages structured?

Typically for traditional full day weddings, coverage starts from four hours up to full-day coverage from getting ready photos, all the way to the final sendoffs. For smaller elopements, I have one hour packages that start at $300. I offer customizable packages to suit your needs that we can discuss specific requirements during our consultation!

3. Can we meet before booking?

Absolutely! I strongly believe in the importance of building a connection with our clients. I offer a complimentary consultation where we can discuss your vision, our approach, and any questions you may have. (Read: let's grab a coffee or drink if you are in person, or via zoom if we can't meet in person).

4. Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I would love to travel to your wedding! I am based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but I am available for weddings across the country. Generally there are no travel fees for locations within 30 miles of Chattanooga, but travel fees may apply for other locations.

5. How long after the wedding will we receive our photos?

I deliver sneak peaks within 48 hours after the wedding and this generally includes 15-20 highlights from the wedding like getting ready photos, first look, first kiss, cake cutting, dancing, and sendoffs photos! From here you will be able to send editing notes or comments before I deliver the full gallery

I deliver your fully edited photos within 2-3 weeks after your wedding day. I understand the excitement of seeing your photos, and I work hard after each wedding to ensure each photo that I deliver is carefully edited to perfection!

6. Do you offer wedding albums or prints?

Yes, I offer high-quality wedding albums and prints as part of our packages if you are interested. I work with professional printing labs to ensure your memories are beautifully preserved in tangible form.

7. Can we provide a list of specific shots we want?

Of course! I encourage everyone to share any specific ideas or shot lists they have in mind. This helps me to tailor our approach to ensure we capture all the moments and details that are important to you.

8. Do you have second shooters or cinematographers that you work with?

Yes, I have a few second shooters and associate shooters that I have in my networks that can be added on for your wedding needs, along with videographers that I can highly recommend their services that I know we will work well together!

9. How do we book your services?

To secure your wedding date, we require a signed contract and a retainer fee. Once these are received, your date is officially reserved on our calendar.

10. Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, engagement sessions are a great way for us to connect and get to know each other before your wedding day. I highly recommend it as an opportunity for you to get comfortable in front of the camera with me, and have some beautiful photos taken together to share about!

11. What is included in the sessions?

All sessions include full print rights that are delivered via a personalized gallery! You are free to share and print these photos to your heart's content!

12. Ok, I/We are very awkward in front of the camera, can you pose us?

Of course! I understand that posing for photos can feel a bit unfamiliar or even daunting, but it's my job to make you feel comfortable and look your best in front of the camera. During our session, I'll guide you through a variety of poses that will feel natural and authentic.

For couples, I often start with simple prompts and movements that encourage genuine interactions and emotions between you two. Whether it's a gentle walk, a playful whisper, or a sweet embrace, these moments often result in beautifully candid shots that capture your connection.
